Scottish Housing Regulator to consult on directed transfer proposal

The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) has written to every Thistle customer about the Association’s request for a directed transfer to Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association. A copy of this letter can be viewed by clicking here

The SHR is required by law to consult with tenants on the proposal before any decision on a directed transfer is made. The consultation process must be carried out in accordance with the SHR’s ‘Statutory Guidance on Consultation where the Regulator is directing a transfer of assets’. A copy of this guidance can be found on the SHR’s website www.housingregulator.gov.scot

The SHR has appointed the Tenants Information Service (TIS), who acted as our Independent Tenant Adviser (ITA), to act as ITA for this consultation. They will manage the consultation on behalf of SHR and TIS will report directly to them. TIS will provide both our tenants and factored owners with free, independent advice on what a directed transfer would mean. TIS will soon be contacting every customer to get the SHR’s consultation underway.
